For ancient Egyptians the Scarab beetle was the sacred manifestation of the god Khepri, who was believed to roll the sun across the sky like the dung beetle. The fact that the Scarab (sounds so much better than dung beetle) would lay their eggs and the larvae would transform out of dung also makes them a great symbol for rebirth and resurrection. So how could I not include the Eye of Horus for healing, and the Ankh for the key to life. Not only are these gloves stylish (and reversable!) but they contain ancient blessings as they protect your hands from the cold.
This pattern is recommended for knitters with experience with knitting in the round, reading charts, and working in stranded colorwork.  The pattern uses fingering weight yarn and 2.25mm needles.
